Waitlisted.. how does it work?

Hi there. I was waitlisted for Human Ecology.. I was wondering if each college has their own individual waitlist or what? Also, does the waitlist vary depending on you degree within the college? And how does that affect the financial aid and need-blindness of the process???I was wondering if there is anything people can do to boost their chances of getting in? It said on the website that we'll be receiving something in the mail, but it hasn't arrived yet!

Continue to show interest after you say you would like to stay on the wait-list. Ask the admissions office questions and tell them that Cornell is your first choice and it’s your dream to go there. This way, when they go back to make the second glances over the applicants on the wait-list, they’ll remember how much you want to come.

Good luck!

Does anyone know if the wait list for CAS is active yet?

It usually takes them a few days to a week, or even longer, to process everything. My friends who were waitlisted at Harvard three years ago told me that they didn’t hear until June. I think it probably depends. You’ll hear soon enough :)

Its funny how we wait breathlessly to find out which college we can’t afford to send our S to! The wait list is the worst, you just can’t get settled.
