Hey,

I was waitlisted last year at Northwestern. My stats were pretty decent; I think I didn't get in because I definitely didn't show enough of an interest. It was one of those dilemmas where the parents insisted I don't make the trip to Evanston unless I get in, and of course, I can't get in if I don't make the trip there. Catch-22. haha

You think I can get in this time as a transfer for the McCormick School of Engineering?

I am:
Female (lol)
Freshman college student who was waitlisted last year from NU
SAT: Math: 800, CR: 690, Writing: 800 --> 2290
SAT2: Math2: 790; Physics: 670, I think...it's been a while lol
High school GPA: 3.71 (super competitive high school)
3.53 gpa at NYU-Poly Honors. Lots of cool extra-currics, volunteer work. I also work as a receptionist at NYU-Poly Admissions part-time.
My high school recs were really good, I highly suspect.

If I visit during my spring break this year, do you think I can get in? The "waitlisted" letter I got after getting waitlisted (and ultimately rejected) last year said that individuals who reapply to NU after being waitlisted have a higher chance of admittance compares to regular transfer applicants - which sounds pretty sweet to me.

Do I have a decent shot? I want to be in the mid-west! I know applicant stats are up this year, and it makes me nervous.
