Getting waitlisted really saddened me yesterday-- I love Kenyon :(. Have any international students been accepted through the waitlist? Ever? Should I lose all hope, haha? lol Weird question, but I don't want to be totally crushed in May.

At least you are waitlisted, keep positive! I know an international who got an outright rejection.

According to the Common Data Set, last year Kenyon offered waitlist spots to 931 students. 328 students accepted those waitlist spots, and of those 15 were admitted. So… here is my advice:

You need to start making other plans for next fall. Hopefully you will have some other acceptances you can get excited about! Because no matter what you do, statistically your odds are not very high of getting off the waitlist. That is less than 5% of those who accepted the spot getting in. The numbers vary some from year to year, so they could take a few more or a few less, but it isn’t going to be too far off from that.

If you do accept the spot on the waitlist, confirm for Kenyon that you are still very interested in attending. If you TRULY would attend no matter what if you got in, tell them that (if you are sure you can cover the cost AND it would be your first choice for sure).

If you accomplish anything of interest (since your app went in or over the next several weeks), drop them an email in admissions to let them know, and also to confirm your interest.

Intparent saved me a lot of typing. That is exactly the right advice. Do everything inparent said.

Sikorsky, could I pay you to say that to my own kids? :D

Perhaps we could just arrange reciprocity?
