Waitlisted. Now what?

Do I have any chance of being accepted of the waitlist? Or does Cornell historically rarely go to its waitlist? What can I do to improve my chances of being admitted from the waitlist? Thanks...

Yes. Someone please answer this thread. I got waitlisted at two colleges :( Don't know if that is good or bad. So far, the best college that I got into is only Berkeley... By the way, I got waitlisted at Cornell and the University of Chicago.

I got waitlisted to cornell, accepted to johns hopkins, and accepted to berkeley, rejected from MIT and Hqrvard

you can't improve your chances i dont think. and waitlist chances are relatively low. however whats done is done, dont worry about whats to be done now, so enjoy the end of senior year now that you're done w/ the college process

It looks like they forgot to clear the Wait List fields on the 2001 Common Data Set form, because it is highly unlikely that the numbers would be exactly the same as 2000. But that's what they posted on the web site.

They don't break out the Wait List by college at Cornell so it really comes down to what spots they need to fill in which college.
The following link is to a report on Undergraduate Enrollment http://dpb.cornell.edu/irp/pdf/Reports/UG_Enroll_Trends_2004.pdf
It notes that the University is comitted to a class size of 3050 students and that they plan to use the wait list to get up to that number.

Stupid Q and I asked this on another thread, do you get a Guaranteed Transfer if you don't get off of the wait list?

no they are completely different and have nothing to do with one another.

I wish I got a guaranteed transfer instead of being wait-listed. :( :(

Waitlist and Guaranteed Transfer are two different things...

I beleive the GT is only offered at CALS, ILR, and CHE

At CAS and ENG there is no GT

suddenly you make me feel a whole lot better LOL

sigh
