i got waitlisted on chem 3AL lecture with position of 53. but i got enrolled in the lab. So what's my chance to get enrolled in the lecture?

Are there two lectures? If so, and if they are taught by the same professor, then you can sign up for the other lecture if it has spots open, and just attend the lecture you want.

In fact, both sections are full.

So you’ve got like, 2 options.

1) Every day, that there are open hours (I believe there is like one hour a week during phase one where even if you have already had your appointment, you can still make changes, at least for me there is) for you, try re-enrolling on Tele-bears. Don’t bother with looking at the schedule building site because its quite lag-tastic and is updated at the end of the day.

2) This is considerably easier: go talk to Lucia Briggs, who is in charge of enrollment for 3a I believe. Tell her you need to get in this class and explain your situation. I was in a similar situation as yours, and she told me to check tele-bears the next few days to see if spots opened up, and if they didnt, to come back and see her. Well, I did end up getting in, but if I hadnt, she would probably have done something similar to what happened when I needed to get into chem 1a lab section (to which I spoke to the 1a guy for), which is basically just shove you in. You might want to hold off on doing this until the semester begins, since there will very likely be many drops, and you can go with the prior option (I also dont like to bother them unless its a last resort). Pro-tip: This kind of stuff will work with most departments, because most of the faculty is trying there to help you, (but not with bio 1b… I think their too totalitarian) and plus, the chem department seems really chill.

I’m sure you’ll get in, so you probably dont have to stress out, but good luck anyways.
