Waitlisted outcomes notification

My D is on the waitlist - anyone know when UR notifies waitlisted applicants as to outcome?

Colleges won’t be taking kids off the waitlist until after the May 1 reply-by deadline for accepted students. Generally by early July, waitlists start shutting down.

In past years, there has been a waitlist movement thread in the Parents’ Forum. (I think it’s the Parents’ Forum, use the CC search function.)

Historically, UR has taken very few (<10) off its waitlist.

Your daughter (or her school guidance counselor) might contact your D’s admissions counselor at UR and ask where she is on the waitlist. (Top 10? Top 25? Top 50?) That way you and she will be able to gauge how likely it is she will get offered an admission.

I might add, it could be beneficial to show your interest for U of R continually, even if you are on the waitlist. Don’t just accept the waitlist offer, make something happen, I guess. best of luck! :)

There is fine line between demonstrating continuing interest and annoying the admission staff.

Ask if the adcomm will accept additional supporting materials before you send anything.
