waitlisted over and over and over

chinablue - i’m pretty sure that if you make it off the waitlist, you don’t get any financial aid, or very little, at least at my schools. i’m sure that this was the policy at either rice or hopkins, i can’t remember which…

sleepycat - i was accepted to two state schools and georgetown EA…I actually had pretty high hopes after the EA acceptance, but those just came crashing down within the past week haha

also, for those interested, i spoke to someone in admissions at rice, and she also said that they were more likely to draw upon the waitlist due to the financial uncertainties, but i also found out that some of these schools don’t tell us the full truth. many of them say that their waiting lists are not ranked, but i was very suspicious of this, because a friend of mine was place on a priority waitlist. so i asked the rice admissions lady about it, and she became extremely flustered. it took her a while to organize her thoughts, and even then she was very vague. “well, we have a priority waitlist, and we don’t have a priority waitlist. if we need a particular applicant for a particular major, we will look at everyone again, but if we don’t, we will take them of the so-called priority waitlist.” it was complete and total BS. :</p>
