Waitlisted people at Brown put up ur stats?

hey i just got accecpted but my friend got wait listed

hey everyone that is wait listed please put up your stats here

tooo lazy to put everything, but heres the basics
2000 SAT
3.5 gpa
everything else was pretty amazing

blah academia!

waitlisted? join the facebook group to vent about it (it helps)

http://hs.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2261764298

Waitlisted...I'm probably going to stay on it.

SAT I: 2290
SAT II: 2320
GPA: 3.92 unw/4.41 w
Rank: 14/768
Interview: Positive but necessarily short (no option for longer interview).
Essays: Good. Probably didn't factor into decision much.
Extras: Sigh. The thing that most likely killed my 4 Ivy applications. Minimal leadership, decent involvement but not 40 hrs/wk, a few awards but not even state level. Obviously, not impressive enough.

sat 2240
act 34
gpa 3.7 unweighted; 8 ap classes

varsity track captain
2 summers of research
biogenius finalist, isef alternate, several science awards
nat'l merit finalist
100 hrs service at hospital

i want to get in off the waitlist sooo badly, do you know what the stats were like last year/ what they are projected to be this year?

waitlist

2360 SAT
top 3% class rank
good ecs, etc

Any idea if you're sending something in to them if you're waitlisted? What are ya sending in?

oh

2350 SAT
1/47X (top 1% is what it says)
Lots of ECs and leadership, community involvement, thousandish hours of research at NIH (how is that not impressive?)
GPA 4.0 uw, 4.80 w
Essay: Thought it was great. Really quirky, another side of who I am. Risky and fun.

Don't get it at all... you can look at my other posts for more info but I honestly don't know what killed it. My teachers are surprised and have offered to send in additional recs (those who wrote the first ones) and another teacher offered to write on too... I think maybe my guidance counselor rec killed it... she's... grr.

I'm really sorry to hear about your decision fengshui....I was really looking forward to meeting you...are you going to stay on it?

DEFINATELY. And I was too, frisbee/football (even though I SUCK) on the lawns woulda been cool!

Even though I'm sort of over it... my teachers totally freaked out and have volunteered to write recs (even one that didn't before). I don't know what else to do - I don't wanna inundate them with papers, yknow? Like "OMGOSH HES DESPERATEEEEEEEEEEEE" <- which I sorta am, I don't fit in anywhere else.

maybe I can be like "yeah. this is what i like:" but more of my typical proseyness and show the diverse intellectual fetishes I have...

Honestly, I don't see how you could go wrong with that. I mean you probably can't change your # on the list, but if it comes down to sparing an extra room or using it for storage, that extra interest you display may swing the decision in your favor.

(I guess someone on the admission board isn't a fan of landscaping)

Hahaa. You remember the essay :P

I'd SO workstudy as a groundskeeper!

2130 -sat1
2370- sat 2
We haven't got GPA here, but ive got 5 A's for my Alevels.. am ranked on national level..
Do you guys think we should send something??

I can't believe you were waitlisted, fengshuibundi. I really wanted you to get in! I got rejected, but I hope that you get taken off the waitlist! Good luck, and screw them if they don't take you! :D

So where you headed then cowtipper? we can't shop now!

I hear from Pomona and Northwestern like tomorrow, but I'll probably go to USC, unless I get into Pomona.

Where will you go if you don't get off the waitlist?

All ya'll will be freezing your asses off in the northeast and I'll be tanning in California! :D lol

Ohhh...

Haha I hate CA ;)

I'll either go to Duke or UVA (not much money at either). I have a full ride at UMCP and some money at JHU but I don't like either (nor do I like BU or URoch)

fengshuibundi- How did you hear about money from UVa and JHU? Accepted at UVa by internet. Did not hear form JHU yet.

Wow guys, it is amazing. Crazed, with those stats I do not know you could have been waitlisted. It is all crapshoot! One of my good friends got accepted at Princeton and rejected from Harvard, Yale and Brown. So weird. I feel for you guys because you have been so enthusiastic about Brown all along..!

But, hell....You know that you will be happy in a few months at one of the other awesome schools you got accepted to !..

Oh, I don't know about my UVA money, just a guess. I'd hope some more because I got a likely but I doubt it. And the JHU thing I was accepted in by mail and it had all the info (I live in MD so I got the stuff quickly)
