Waitlisted Problem

Hi,

I've been waitlisted to Duke. I'm glad Duke didn't turn me down outright, at the same time frustrated to be in limbo.

Anyway, I digress. Under "Click to Accept Waitlist Offer" there's a box titled

"I am currently planning to attend"

Beneath this is a list of universities. I was very surprised to see Duke in that list as well. How can I realistically "plan to attend" Duke when I am on the waitlist? Duke is my No.1 school so I definitely will enroll, but is this simply a glitch? If not, I would definitely pick Duke. But I'm confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Guys, anybody? Still confused about this!

Same problem here!
Also, how does it affect your chances of acceptance from the waitlist?
I’m an international student and as such I have no acceptance offers from any colleges in my own country, because the process hasn’t begun. (I’m sure that I can get into very highly ranked ones though.) However, Duke is my first choice.
What do I do? Write a college in my country? Would that hurt my chances?

Since Duke waitlisted you I think it is none of their business where you actually plan to attend, but, since they have given you the option of choosing Duke in their waitlist question, I would click on Duke!

Thanks sdgal2. However I’ve already put another university in that option. My thinking was, since it says “currently planning to attend” putting in Duke there hardly makes sense, because I haven’t been accepted. Generally I guess it’s suppsoed to be a uni you are going to enroll in until you are, if you are, accepted from that waitlist…

SaoirseBefri What did you end up giving, in that option?

Also SaoriseBefri, I’m an international too! Where are you from?

I hail from Bangladesh.
