Do they consider the otehr colleges u applied to? I mean they ask for it on their only response site.

so if i put that i am on the waitlist for harvard yale and princeton, i guess that would be deletorious..but why does penn do that

I was just wondering the same thing…I received a large number of rejections, so I don’t really want to list them on the reply. It probably also wouldn’t look too good. I was also waitlisted at a few other institutions, and am also debating whether to put them down as it might make them think (even subtly) that Penn isn’t my first choice…Can anyone offer their advice on what to do on the waitlist reply card?

I don’t see the point in lying. I listed schools that I was rejected from and schools that I was accepted to. They want me for me, not me pretending to be who they want.

After accepting the position, are we supposed to receive a confirmation e-mail of any sort?

I would advice against hiding any information at all.

The fact that you’re on the waitlist means that they think you’re a competitive applicant. If they do end up wanting to admit you, but find out that you’ve not told them everything…well.

But yes, I have no idea why they would ask you for what other schools you’ve applied to.

does it matter how quickly you turn in your waitlist response? like does someone have an advantage responding now as opposed to april 28th?

I’m not trying to lie, but listing all my rejections, acceptances, and waitlists becomes a bit troublesome. Listing only my rejections would already account for 10 of the spaces. I wouldn’t mind at all putting down all the schools if I only applied to like 8, but just putting down my rejections would take some time…But I do definitely agree with everyone else to not intentionally hide any important information.

I called Penn admissions and they said important thing was to say “yes or no” to waitlist, and you only need to put as much other information “as you feel comfortable with.”

Methinks many are overthinking this… just do yes or no if that’s all you’re comfortable with.
