I was waitlisted Anyone know how hard it is to get off of UVA’s waitlist for biomedical engineering?
I’m a female and instate.
Anyone else get waitlisted? and if you don’t mind please share what major you applied for.
I also got waitlisted to the bio-medical engineering at UVA. With that said, I am an instate student as well
if its not too rude, would you mind sharing your stats with me?
I have:
GPA: 3.85 (unweighted)
SAT (super scored): 1390
ACT (superscored): 32-33
Class Rank: 45 / 361
Honestly, I think my strong suits for my application were my extra curricular activities, essays, and my background.
Can you also tell me yours?
GPA: 4.27 (weighted), 3.8 (unweighted)
SAT: 1380 (one sitting)
Class rank: 39/410
Excuse me for asking but is it okay for me to ask for your gender?
Strong points:
- The amount of rigor I put into my coursework (7 AP’s, 28 college credits at an accredited university)
- extracurricular activities (Basically all honor societies, VEX robotics, TSA, community service clubs), -recommendations ( I took duel enrollment classes geared towards math and science that are taught by actual professors, I managed to snag a recommendation from my calculus and physics professor )
- My gender (since females going into stem majors seem to depressingly low)
Weaknesses: - My essays (They were okay, seemed a bit generic to me since I went the traditional route of being an immigrant blah blah blah, although everyone who read them and said they were great and told a story)
- test scores were low
If we both happen to get off the wait-list, I hope to see you on campus! Best of luck to both of us (We’re going to need ALOT of it)
I got waitlisted after getting deferred. And I’m in-state… must say I am very disappointed.
