Hey! I got into VU but I know a few really qualified people, like all of you, who were waitlisted. I was waitlisted at TCNJ and the reason I heard from most was that i didn't seem interested enough/ I applied to a lot of competative schools and they figured I wouldn't accept admission there. Maybe the same applies to you, anyways hope that helps..goodluck

Friend of mine got into UVA, Richmond, and NWestern, but was waitlisted at Nova... maybe it has something to do with late applications.

Interesting, I got in to Nova and Richmond - waitlisted/rejected from 8 others! With so many people applying to so many schools this year, the odds are not great to get accepted at most of your choices. Its turning into a game of chance.
Maybe next year colleges should raise application fees ($100-200?) to discourage frivolous apps.

Yea but with the way colleges are rejecting highly qualified students...people need to apply to like 9 schools because admissions is such a crap shot...and also for $40,000 a year it's nice to compare financial aid packages and stuff.

Good point about shopping for the best fin aid deal but, the reason highly qualified students are being rejected is because so many are sending out mass apps to 10, 15, or 20 schools.

Its gotten to be a Catch 22 scenario and maybe the best way to curb the problem is to let the market take control. Slots in elite schools are a scarce resource so there should be a limit on all the 'shot gun' apps.

Yea, I got in at Villanova, and it was my first choice. But, I also got waitlisted at Cornell. Things just happen for a reason I guess.

GPA: 3.92 weighted
2 APs (my school doesn't offer AP english or history)
ACT- 29
4 years of 2 sports
3 years of 1 sport
captain ski team
band (flute)- 4 years
NHSSADD - 1 year
volunteer at nursing home- 4 years
yearbook- 1 year

I was waitlisted at Villanova, Trinity, and Colby
I applied to the Business school at Villanova.
Does anyone know the stats for being admitted of the waiting list? Or if it is more difficult to get into certain schools within VU?

The business school is definatly the most competive to get into.

I was also waitlisted, and I think its most likely because I applied to the business school. Does anyone know what percentage of applicants they usually accept off of the waiting list each year? Nova was my first choice and having to wait until June 30th is really killing me..!
