Waitlisted students

When do waitlisted students who chose to remain on the waitlist find out if they have been admitted or denied? Or does it vary depending on when you responded to the waitlist? (I sent my card promptly back to Fordham the day after I received it)

Students on the wait-list might have to wait until May 1st and later to get a response from Fordham on the final decision. Fordham (on both campuses) needs to know the number of students enrolled. If we have space, the wait-list will be activated. The dorm situation will be also be considered.

We anticipate having news in early May for waitlisted students

Okay, thanks! Also, what about housing? If I am accepted off the waitlist and choose to attend, will I get housing (I applied to Rose Hill and do not live anywhere in commuting distance to the school) for my four years?

samee with me

I know it's only May 3rd, but has anyone gotten off the waitlist?????

No. We are still processing the postmark May 1st deposits. When we get those numbers, we will draw from the waitlist. Please be patient.

Okkkkkkkkkkkkkkk ;-)

Exactly how will we find out if we have been accepted off the waitlist? By a phone call or email or letter, etc?

anyone hear back yet????

well, i will answer my own question. I just got accepted off of the waitlist! yet, no info on any financial aid. without aid fordham is really impossible for me so...... im both happy and sad

I know someone else who got off the waitlist today!

ahHHHHH i doubt they willl give much aid to those who got off the waitlist..... but i am really needy!! :(

What coast are you located on?? I would really love to get in and am on the west coast, so maybe the mail has not made its way across the country yet? (At least this is what I am hoping...)

The person I know who got a call about getting off the wait list was not offered admission to the main campus (Rose Hill), which they wanted. They were offered admission to the Lincoln Center campus with no guarantee they could transfer to the Rose Hill campus at a later date.

Congrats to both of you! It seems weird someone would be offered admission at LC and not Rose Hill. I heard that LC was harder to get into because of limited dorm space and its highly competitive theatre program.

Whatever.

Financial aid will come later, I think. My D got in RD, and financial aid letter came a few days later. Call the Financial Aid office on Monday and see what they say.

The student offered a spot at LC is not a theatre major...business, I think. Fordham explained they had some spots available there, so they offered it to their Rose Hill waitlist. Does anyone have any comments about the LC campus and whether this would be a good choice for someone who really wants to be at the Rose Hill campus?

The LC campus is SO DIFFERENT from the Rose Hill campus. If the student likes Fordham because of the curriculum and because it is NYC, either is fine, but if in addition someone liked the dorms, the way the students got along with each other in the dorms, the cafeteria, and the extracurriculars, and if you liked the green space for playing frisbee at Rose Hill - and you were offered LC, you should go somewhere else I think. Just my opinion.

LC and RH are different campuses. LC, being in the center of Manhattan has a different atmosphere, than the more traditional RH campus. LC has decent dorms (suite/apartment style - 2-3 bedrooms with 2-3 roommates in them, a kitchen, 1-2 bathroom(s), closet space in many areas, and a common area) and a pretty active campus. Despite the limited space, many students make use of it. The sports TEAMS are up at the bigger campus, but LC does have some recreational facilities.
