Did anyone else who was waitlisted get a letter from the dean thanking them for their continued interest in Brown? I don’t really expect to be accepted from the waiting list but i thought it was odd and unnecessary for the letter. It was probably just a kind gesture for my effort in saying that I would still like to attend Brown, but I’m just curious if anyone received a similar letter.

I got one like that before I was waitlisted just cuz i sent a letter in to update them on my activities and they were responding. This is probably not what you’re talking about tho lol

My S got a letter also, which in addition to the “thank you” urged him to send a deposit to some other school by May 1. It appeared to be a generic form letter, which I agree seems unnecessary.

I was waitlisted and did not get this letter. I sent in my card stating I want to remain on the waitlist, but they never sent me anything to confirm this. Is this normal or did they not get my card at all?

mee too. sent in the waitlist card and didnt hear back from them yet. will try emailing them today to ask.

does anyone know when waitlist notifications begin? brown should know by tomorrow how many spaces they need to fill, right–so decisions should be out within the next few weeks, right?

I remembered that some accepted students had their extracurriculars mentioned in their wait-list letter. Perhaps, like the admission letter, receiving the additional letter depends on who is responsible for reviewing your information?

Has anyone heard anything new about the waitlist? Is it active?

I called them this morning, but since snail mail was still coming in, the admission office wasn’t sure yet. If you get any new information about the waitlist, please don’t hesitate to let the rest of us know! :)
