<p>I've been waitlisted for SUMaC, and now I'm wondering if this is more like a "kind rejection" or if I actually have a chance of getting off. Does anyone know if they just waitlist everyone or what kind of ratio it is? </p>

<p>I don’t deal with admissions at all, but I know the number of spots they have in the dorm is fixed, and as far as I know they will do what they can to try to fill them all. As I recall, that has included at least one case where a student was admitted from the waitlist a couple of weeks before camp because of a late dropout.</p>
<p>I am waitlisted too. I actually think this is just a kinder way of saying that “you are rejected”. I mean the chances are very low of a student dropping out such an opportunity and then you’ll have to be selected from another pool of waitlisted students!! very low chance!
