Wonderwall - NYU doesn't break out the Wait-List for particular programs.
(Actually, none of the Colleges do that.)
You should call them, let them know of your continued interest, and ask what your chances are for that program. They probably won't know until some time in May, but they may be able/willing to share what happened the last few years.

Thanks both to Rich and Proud for so diligently responding to all these requests. My D was waitlisted at Pomona - and has accepted a place on the waitlist. Unfortunately there seems to be no information available for that school. Luckily she has lots of other great options and is getting on with making a decision from amont those other schools.

That is, I believe, the best thing to do. There are so many Excellent Colleges beyond the "most selective" that a student can have a wonderful experience at.

Look's Like they have started to use the Wait List in recent years.

You can't count on acceptance off the waitlist.
They can't bind you to matriculate, if and when they decide to let you in.

You will have already put in non-refundable deposit at some other school where you were accepted, which you, hopefully will have decided you love and want to attend.

Late May or June if and when you hear from the school that waitlisted you; you may decide to tell them - "Sorry, no - I've got someplace I like better to attend"

Good Luck and enjoy college where ever you attend!!

The listing in US News has N/A = No answer to the wait list questions.

As a private institution they are not required to share information that they want to keep secret. They may fear that "the public" would mis-interpret it and be overly hopeful or pessimistic.

If your son of daughter was wait-listed and they still desire to attend USC, they should make this known to the Admissions Office and during the conversation ask what the chances are. (Better for the student to make the call, rather than a parent.)
