<p>I use the figures from the Common Data Sets the Colleges have posted on line on their websites.
The CDS’s are usually posted in January of the year following the Fall Admittance Season they are reporting on. So Fall of 09 - which hasn’t happened yet - won’t be available till January 2010.</p>
<p>But many College News Papers report on the Admissions activities at their College, so there may be stories in those campus newspapers that could give you some idea on how the New Class Admission process is going and whether they think they will need to go to the wait list.</p>

Why did they need to go to the wait list for so many more admissions than ever before?
The answer appears to be the dramatic increase in applications in 2008 over prior years, making it harder for the Admissions Committee to identify those likely to attend if offered admission.</p>
