@samum99 How about you learn to communicate politely
So I just got this message:
Dear me:
After an individualized and comprehensive review of your application to the University of Michigan, we regret that we are not able to offer you a place in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2017. I would like to assure you that your application was reviewed very carefully and given every possible consideration. We took into account the strength and quality of your academic achievement and preparation indicated by your secondary school transcript, your scores on standardized tests, and your high school teacher and counselor recommendations. We also considered such aspects as personal characteristics and attributes, as well as your written responses to the short answer and essay questions.
Although we are unable to offer admission at this time, we would be willing to consider a sophomore level transfer to the University, rather than the typical junior level transfer, provided that you attain a solid “3.0” grade point average or higher while enrolled in transferable courses at another college during your first two full semesters of college work (12-15 credit hours each semester). Many of the students currently on this campus entered as transfer students. If your interest in Michigan continues and you would like to consider this option, please review the transfer information on our website at admissions.umich.edu/apply/transfer-students. We also welcome you to contact us at ua-sophomoretransfer@umich.edu for further information regarding your academic planning and for more specific information regarding the decision on your application if you would find it helpful.
Thank you for your interest in the University of Michigan. You have my sincerest wishes for success in your pursuit of higher education.
Sincerely,
Erica L. Sanders
Director
So if I keep a 3.0 I get an automatic admission next year… I’m throughly shook.
My son received the same letter last year. He starts classes as a sophomore st Michigan this Fall after transferring from UMiami in Coral Gables Florida. At the end of the day, his degree will read “University of Michigan”. To him it was worth the circuitous route.
hey guy,the message was came as email? Could
you see some thing like guaranteed transfer offer in your wolverineaccess ?
Did it say it was an automatic transfer acceptance?
That’s exactly what that letter means. Guaranteed…if s/he obtains a 3.0 gpa
@dwhaojjenje @Momgoblue @umsigmadom In my WA it just reads like a rejection with nothing about the transfer agreement. Only the first part about there not being a spot for me. I’m glad I read the email first! I am waiting for an email back from the sophmore transfer admissions. I am not sure how many other people get this option. Though I am not sure if I will accept this because at the college I am entering in the fall I have a near full ride! I will just have to decide after my freshman year!
Also I am a her
is there any chance we could transfer in for sophomore year if the email recommended we try to transfer after sophomore year
Hmm this is what I got:
Thank you for your willingness to be on our waitlist for our College of Engineering. You are a very accomplished student, and we believe you could be successful at the University of Michigan.
However, we have now met our enrollment goals and unfortunately will not be able to offer you freshman admission for Fall 2017.
If your interest in an Engineering degree from the University of Michigan continues, please consider applying as a transfer student to the College of Engineering at the junior level.
The Office of Engineering Recruitment and Admissions will be happy to help you in your planning – contact their office directly at 734-647-7101 if you have individual questions regarding the transfer application process. You can also refer to the transfer information online at www.engin.umich.edu/college/admissions/undergrad/transfer.
We thank you for your strong interest in the University of Michigan and wish you the best as you pursue your educational goals.
So it doesn’t say anything about guaranteed transfer admissions for me… Just that if you want you can apply
:')
@Jiyongie yeah I think there’s just saying to try again in two years… I’m sorry!! but they still liked you enough to waitlist so why not try again if you really love U of M!
Yeah I should try. I guess getting a transfer admission will depend more on college scores than high school, so if I work work hard and keep my scores up there could be a good chance of attending for the last two years at least
@Jiyongie just think in terms of the endgame because if you want to transfer you will get a degree from UMich in the end! You will be great at whatever you put your mind to
