I know it is early but when you hear something from Irvine let the rest of us know. Thanks :)

also they say that housing is not guaranteed so if we are luckly accepted to the school but they didnt have housing available for us, how does that work since freshman are required to live on campus unless they live in the area… and i dont live in the area.

Wait, what? “Freshman are required to live on campus unless they live in the area” No one is required to live on campus. You could live two hours away and commute every day if you wanted (not that there is anyone that crazy, but I’m just trying to make a point :P). If you don’t get housing and you live too far to commute, you will need to find an apartment.

Huh… I guess you are right. My bad. I just assumed UCI was like that seeing as a lot of colleges do require freshman to live on campus if they dont live in the area. Well thanks for the info. :)

i just recieved my acceptance so if you have been waitlisted check your UCI login page to see if there have been any updates. I talked to someone at UCI today and they said to keep checking your admissions page for the next couple of days if it hasnt been updated yet. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE :)

Congratulations, curriegrl11! It;'s good to heard that those that have been waitlisted have been accepted. Best of Luck to you all! :)

to see the symbolic cursive of acceptance makes all my thoughts of shanking uci admissions seem to flutter away…

and in retrospect
those two months of impatience has sure been worth it :)

dont give up hope, fellow waitlisted-ers! (? ha)
and dont wait for the notification email about a status change! i received it hours later >.<

BEST OF LUCKKKK to every single one of you, and to those who appealed as well :)

Wow, I got in but they changed my major to undeclared…guess Aero Engineering was full…

Hey - just got accepted - long, painful wait.

I have to accept by May 11th so they still have time to notify others by May 15 if the first group decides not to go. (Sorry to those that haven’t heard, but I’ve already said yes).

curriegrl11: The deadline for guaranteed housing is extended so as long as you submit your SIR in time, you’re still guaranteed housing (despite what the initial message on the congratulation screen says).

No offense to UCR, but I’m so happy UCI finally said yes. Whew!

The email message they sent me was:

“Your UCI application status has changed. You may check your MyAdmissionsApplication@UCI for information on this status change at:…”

This was pretty much what UCSD and UCLA said when they rejected me, so I was sure I didn’t get in. Other schools that accepted me sent me an email titled “Congratulations” which is a lot more exciting to see.

I was also taken off the wait list yesterday and accepted. Just curious, for those who were also accepted from the waitlist and planning to SIR UCI, did you SIR any other UCs before May 1?

yea i sent an sir to ucsb and faxed them to cancel it the very next day ;)
