waitlisted @ UROP

<p>Anyone else here got waitlisted at UROP? I did... </p>

<p>Heres what the email said (I got it on June 17th):</p>

<p>"I regret to inform you that you have initially been placed on a waitlist for the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program for the 2008/20089 academic year. Currently the program is full. We will know if we have additional space in mid-August when students who have been admitted confirm or deny his/her space in the program. We may be able to admit you off the waitlist at this time. Our admission decision in no way reflects upon your academic record or ability to do research. If we eventually have more spaces we can offer, we will notify you in mid-August by sending you an e-mail. </p>

<p>Thank you for your interest in the program."</p>

<p>It basically means you applied a little late in the game. Don't worry though, a lot of kids change their minds about doing UROP. There's are still over two months till school starts. Just call them once every week starting in mid-July, and they'll find you a spot.</p>

<p>By the way, I was waitlisted then got in last year.</p>

<p>I don't think I received anything till the first week of July either when I found out I was waitlisted. A spot opened up for me though mid-to-late July. </p>

<p>You guys have nothing to worry about if you simply want to get into to UROP.</p>
