I got waitlisted to Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Loyola Maryland, and Bryant. I only got into 1 school down south that I really dont want to go to and only applied to for a safety and rejected by 2. I thought i would get into one of these schools since they werent really reaches. I already sent all my forms back saying i accept a place on waitlist. Fairfield and Quinnipiac are my top schools right now and I was able to get a hold of the director of admissions for Quinnipiac and she said I can do an interview there and Fairfield completely denied me of one. I had a family emergency occuring in the fall through winter that made it impossible for me to scheduale an interview there. I really want them to meet me because I want to stand out because I would do ANYTHING to get into Fairfield. I have letters already written to all 4 of the schools, but there a little professional and lack personality? I know you should say academic accomplishments or something, but nothing too big has occured. Any suggestions of what I can say that sounds good? Plus do you think its a good idea to call Fairfield and tell them that I will be visiting the campus and would REALLY REALLY love to talk to ANYONE because I feel that its important to meet me??? Im guessing its not a good idea to talk about my situation that im only into 1 school and waitlisted to 4? I JUST NEED ANY KIND OF FEEDBACK. and what are the chances that ill get into AT LEAST 1 of these schoools!!??!??!

calm down rdsx. it’s going to be alright. worrying will do you no good at this point, so just learn a little bit more about your safety. you might grow to like it after hearing more about it.

Quite frankly it looks like you are already doing everything you possibly can to get off the waiting lists… Good luck!

Your letters need to be personal and heartfelt. You need to give some details of your family fall situation. You need to say how interested you are in the school. Go on the schools website and find your HS’s admin person and call them and talk with them. EXPRESS youself. And if you do go to your safety you will either be fine or you will transfer. But you will like yourself the most if you give this some focus and effort in a planned and centered way. Good Luck! Oh–also your GC should be making some contacts in your behalf.

send in another teacher’s recomendation from HS, also if you can find an Alum that would help you get off the waitlist ask them to write you a letter, make sure they know that they are your #1 (even if they arent). When it comes down to the waitlist, they just want to fill spots or take your money as awful as that sounds, so they will accept the ones that they know will accept them

My S was put on 3 wait lists last year and got accepted to all 3- after our deposit was in somewhere else. All three said that he was a first round pick, so your chances of getting off the list sound good, providing your SATs and grades are strong. My D was accepted to Fairfield this year, but has decided to go to BC most likely. I know that the Fairfield interview was non-evaluative, so this is probably why they are not offering you one. Best of luck!!

This thread is a year old…

And the good news is - he got off the WL at all of the schools. So, a WL success story.
