I was waitlisted at a couple of schools, and am currently deciding which ones I want to wait on the waitlist for. But I found out I was waitlisted approximately 2 weeks before the quarter ended, and my spanish and calculus teachers gave us an extremely difficult quarter, therefore my GPA dropped about 2 percentage points. I know that it is good to send a letter of interest and your recent developments (I ran a fundraiser that raised $150,000 for a camp for kids with cancer) but I am afraid to send my 3rd quarter grades because I feel that it would automatically disqualify me. Do I need to send them (will schools disqualify me if I don't) or will they understand the drop in GPA (I also added another AP class this semester). So basically, what should I do.

You don’t need to send the GPA update. They won’t disqualify you for not sending it, because you are actually not asked to submit anything.

Although I think you should still send in the GPA. If the classes are difficult, then, I’m sure the colleges will understand. But rest assured that not sending this update will not disqualify you.

So its better to send grades even though they are not that hot then not send them at all?
