I was waitlisted at Cornell and Duke, but accepted at Vanderbilt and Michigan. I was rejected by Penn... ouch!

I understand Duke's waitlist is really a nice rejection, but that Cornell actually uses theirs (about 9%). Of course, it all depends on the yield numbers this year.

hoping 18

i'm from bridgeport, I go to whitney young high school which is like 5 minutes from downtown.

I got waitlisted too. It was the last decision I checked after the rejection letter from Dartmouth and the online rejections from Stanford and Penn (Wharton). I'm going to do everything I can to get into Duke, because I really love the school (and now my options are smaller with only USC, Rice, and waitlist at Claremont and Georgetown). It was always my number one. Perhaps the scandal will help us waitlisters.

Dartmouth letter basically said we actually read your app. We promise. Quite mean in my opinion compared to the others.

I really love Duke as well. It was tied with Penn as my first choice schools. I'm going to work my hardest to get off the waitlist.
Hopefully, this years the numbers will be our favor.
