So I got waitlisted to UCSD and so I called their admissions office today to see what part of my application that I should've improved on and after transferring me to two different numbers, they only told me about my SATs and my GPA and didn't bother with my ACT or any of my extracurriculars. They gave me the run around whenever I tried asking what I could possibly put on my appeal list and they just told me IDK.

Previously, I've read that they would tell you the number of points and the cutoff but they gave me the runaround AGAIN. I think the site took down the point system as well so I don't even know how to even begin appealing. I submitted my waitlist paragraph but I want to try and appeal first because I actually had some medical problems in my sophomore year which is why my GPA isn't as high as it could be (I put down 3.92 but I really got a 4.0 but they said the median was 4.08) and my SAT was pretty low but my ACT made up for that.

I have no idea what I should do and I'd rather not wait until May 1st when I have the option of appealing. I don't care if it's a small chance, trying is better than nothing. I also know that the admission rate opened up 100 more spots compared to last year and actually, a large number of people don't want to attend so that gives me more hope.

Are there any examples of appeals that actually worked for UCSD? Thanks
