If I call admissions, will they let me why I was waitlisted?

I don’t believe so- I’ve definitely never heard of anyone obtaining a straightforward answer for why they weren’t accepted at any school.

What are the chances of getting off the waitlist?

from last year’s common data set:

Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list 4,790
Number accepting a place on the waiting list 2,216
Number of wait-listed students admitted 167

Marie 24 - I can’t find the statistics you mention on the common data set that shows about 1/2 of wait list is offered admission. I looked at the data set on the website here but item C2 on waiting list was blank.

Can you post a link or help me find the original source data.

This would be greatly welcomed as a ray of hope for my kid.

Thanks.

caringdad–the info I posted was from 2009-2010 because as you saw 2010-11 wasn’t available. I just googled common data set northeastern

[Office of University Planning and Research > Common Data Set](http://www.northeastern.edu/oir/common.html)

and what I posted indicates that only about 7.5% of students got off the waiting list, not 50%.

in 2008-09 it was almost 12% getting off the waitlist

sorry!

I’m sort of dejected about not getting in. Northeastern sent me letters congratulating me on my academic achievement and even waived my applicaton:(
