Waitlisted

Hey, I recently got waitlisted. And now I'm struggling with what I should do because Bing has been my dream school. I still wonder why I didn't get accepted:

GPA: 90.85
SAT: 1900 SAT (1290 combined Math + Reading)
EC: Church for 2 years, DECA (Business club), NHS member, Volleyball/Football member of my church, Rowing team, Teacher's assistant/director (~500 hrs volunteered)

Your GPA is slightly low according to Bing’s “average GPA” which I think is somewhere around a 93. But other than that, it could be pure bad luck… I’m sorry.

you’re good as far as ECs go, honestly I’d bet that a 1950 with a 92 would get in with those same stats. Im not sure if Bing’s accepting off the waitlist this year though.

Sometimes you just can’t make sense of admission decisions. I was summarily rejected by Umass-Amherst but, accepted by Binghamton.
87 UW GPA
1440/1600 SAT
My ECs and essay were good/decent
I honestly expected the decisions to be reversed, go figure

Yeah, I am shocked as well and I really wanted to go to Bing as it was my top choice aside from Macaulay Honors Baruch. =/

A classmate at school got accepted from the waitlist this week. Apparently BU doesn’t wait till May 1.

Hey Stage, did your classmate apply to SoM? A friend of mine got waitlisted when he applied to SoM but he got off it, only to be accepted into Harpur. Kind of like a deferral.

I’m curious Stage, but what were your friend’s stats and I thought the decisions for waitlist occur around June? Thanks.

I’m not sure which school he applied to or which he got accepted to, I’ll find out this week. His stats? I’ll ask, I know his GPA was in the 90s.
