I got wait listed, I gaurentee because of my SAT scores 1540 out of 2400. what can i do to better my chances? Can I write a letter or get another letter of recommendation? WHATTT I WILL DO ANYTHING NOW AS I HAVE BEEN REJECTED BY ALL OF MY TOP SCHOOLS. I need opinions!!!!! Please

Accept the wait list placement today-do not wait. The wait list is not ranked (but it is probably broken down by major applied to) so the sooner you accept placement on the wait list the better your odds. Good luck.

My son was waitlisted as well. UD was in his top 3, but fortunately he was accepted early action at one of his top choices, UMass Amherst. We are still waiting on Stony Brook. We are also going to give Hofstra a closer look. He also got accepted to Quinnipiac, but that may not be as attractive financially and SUNY Oswego and Oneonta. I already have a son at Oswego and I love the school, but this son is not as interested. He knew UD would be a reach, but disappointing nonetheless. Good luck to you.

@mwallenmd I was waitlisted for the business school. This means that I will most likely get in for undecided, at least, right?

I think you should check with UD admissions about this. If you were offered and accept a wait list position for the Business School I’m not sure if you can also be included on the “wait list” as well for University Studies (Undecided). I don’t want to give you the wrong information about this so you should check this out with them ASAP-like tomorrow. Good luck.

@mwallenmd … Yes, I actually called today right after I found out. They said they would call me back within twenty four hours. Do you think that they could accept me for University Studies but still keep me on the wait list for the Business School?

I just got wait listed from the chem E program. I live in VA. My weighted GPA is 4.16, I’m number 13 in my class of 576, but I got a 1700 on my SAT. Do you think I still have a chance of getting in? I accepted the wait list, but this is my top and now I’m freaking out!

It would be my perspective that when they call you back if they offer you admission to University Studies, and you accept it, I would be surprised if they would also allow you to stay on the wait list for the Business School. But of course I could be wrong. You may need to do some hard thinking about this in case they will not allow you to stay on the wait list for Business if you accept the offer for admission to University Studies. Obviously many students start out in University Studies at UD and some will subsequently decide to try and major in the various Business majors. However there is no 100% guarantee you will be able to get into the Business School (I don’t know how competitive this is). So there may be at least some small element of risk here. Best of luck to you.

Accepting a spot on the wait list as quickly as you did certainly puts you in the best position to be accepted off the wait list as the wait list is not ranked. Besides this I unfortunately can’t make any type of further prediction of success as Chemical Engineering is one of the two most competitive majors for admission to UD. Best of luck to you. I hope you are successful.
