Waitlisted

I checked my decision ten minutes ago and turns out I got waitlisted.

I have decent ecs (11 years dance, life scout, 8 years piano, 6 years guitar, varsity parliamentary debate, 300~ volunteer hours, job as a tutor, etc.), decent essay and recs, 3.8 gpa uw (4.2 w), 2240 sat, 35 act, and 790 biom/790 ush/760 math2.

Where did I go wrong???

are you in state?

Yah, me too. I’m waitlisted too, sigh… 3.6gpa and 1950 sat, live in CA

@syndragore, The more I have seen these blogs and chats on college applications, I cannot help but think that it is also a matter of luck. There seems to be no set formula to figure out who gets in. I am sorry you are wait-listed but then there is still a good chance you will get in perhaps tomorrow…so keep the hope and faith.

in state, bay area

@syndragore: What major are you applying to? My son is also waitlisted for bioengineering. The competition is fierce, so hang in there. Good luck to you!!

@syndragore. I’m sure you did nothing wrong! Yes, to which major did you apply? Also, maybe the admission folks at Davis thought they were your safety school so they are playing a wait-and-see game? Where else did you apply?

I’m waitlisted too :frowning: in state that means i’m prob going to get rejected from everywhere else…great…

biological sciences )=

Waitlisted as well, I’m pretty disappointed. I hope the acceptance rate for the people waitlisted is quite high

I was thrilled that I got wailisted, until I found out that someone who had lower stats than me got in.

The site says we have to wait until May 1st to know, lovely.

Waitlisted isn’t the worse thing that could have happened to me.
I’m pretty sure my SAT let me down as it’s an 1800.
My gpa is a 3.85 and I’m from instate, I accepted the waitlist offer and hopefully the consider my fall semester grades because I had over a 4.0 GPA.
Varsity sports all 4 years but limited volunteer hours.
Davis is the only UC i applied to so thank god I didn’t waste $70 bucks on all the others to get a rejection letter.
I went in with an undecided major so I’m hoping that’s not a disadvantage to get off the waitlist :frowning: Oh well, we shall see what happens!

Honestly, don’t feel bad about your SAT’s/ACT’s score. I just found out a girl from my school who had 1200-1300’s on her SAT got into UCD. x_x I don’t know how to feel, since I got waitlisted and she got in. Along with that, she had two D’s and had to retake the course. I feel like everything is so unfair, but I guess this is life.

It’s such a crapshoot. Oh well, it’s not the be all end all, I’ve already been accepted to 2 colleges but my counselors told me I would easily get into Davis so that’s why I applied :/

For those of you who got waitlisted with exceptional stats like OP, what was the rigor of your senior courses?

Anyone know the acceptance rate for wait listed people?

@syndragore

Your stats are definitely qualified enough. However, now it just seems like the essay hurt you.

@saykar, last year none of the UCD waitlisted students got accepted :x
