<p>My s is in the same boat. Same stats as others, got into far superior schools with lots of merit $ for engineering. For Davis, he applied to chem, and it was supposed to be a safety. He got waitlisted, too. What a wake up call. The lesson is that all schools are different, no school is a safety, and everyone should be thankful if they get in a school that they like. Good luck to everyone and do not give up hope.</p>

<p>Darn… I thought Davis was the safest bet, boy was I wrong. Wait listed and nervous, hope we get some people accepted unlike last year.</p>

<p>I was certain I was going to get rejected, but the waitlist offer was a real surprise. This gamve me a little bit more hope for UCSB and UCI. But if Davis DOES accept me off the waitlist, I’d be ecstatic as well!</p>

Actually… I think you are truly an excellent student … So maybe UCD thought you might not accept their acceptance since you might go to another better university.</p>

<p>It’s pretty crazy how this is…my counselors told me UCSC was a safety and I got rejected! Then UCD waitlists me…which isn’t TOO bad. Overall, I’m plain confused. What does it take to get into a UC these days? I don’t think I’m super qualified, though. I mostly cruised through high school, albeit a top public school that’s uber rigorous. To all those waitlisted, I hope you end up going to a great university and accomplish all you want :)</p>
