Waitlisted...

So I was waitlisted (which is honestly a lot more than I was expecting.) So I was wondering, how many people are waitlisted? Is it like a moderately high percentage? And what is the chance of being admitted (or more, what is the chance that they take more than 0 from the waitlist). Also what do I do?

We waitlisted ~2% of applicants this year. We always try to take people from the waitlist; the only time we take 0 is if an unexpectedly high number of students yield to MIT. More here: http://mitadmissions.org/pages/waitlist-faq
