Mm, another serving of perpetuated suspense, please! However, Reed is still my first choice and I want to go badly enough to stay in this prolonged state of limbo.

In the meantime, what can I do to further strengthen my application in the event that there will still be spaces available? More recs, perchance? And could I send in further supplementary material, such as art, music, or anything else that has to do with creative expression?

I am not sure about recs and creative expression , but I do think that an appealing letter to the office of admission stating that reed is your first choice and some other stuff demonstrating your continuing interest might help. oh, and send also an updated resume.. good luck!

If they have a session for admitted students who are still undecided, ask your regional rep if you could attend anyway...shows alot of interest!

Would it be helpful to submit additional writing samples, such as short narratives or music reviews to further demonstrate my interest/skill in writing? (It's what I'd like to fiercely pursue at Reed, anyway) I think the potency of my original application was chiefly developed through those essays, because my stats otherwise were not so pretty...

by updated resume I meant sending recent awards, contests.. anything special you've done since your guidance counselor sent your midyear report :)
but anyhow, just show Reed you love them and would be more than happy to enroll there

Pleated...
I called the admissions office just a few minutes ago. I was waitlisted, too!

I'm pretty happy at the moment, because at least there's still a fighting chance. I hope. But in any case, it's better than rejection, especially since that is what I was really expecting. :D

I was waitlisted too, but it's becoming painfully clear that even if I got in I wouldn't be financially able to go, so I'm dropping myself from the list. Not that it's extremely helpful, but it means the list will be very slightly shorter. Good luck!

I was also waitlisted, and I'm staying on. I visited (hadn't before) and talked to an admissions counselor. Sending a new "why reed" type-ish essay is recommended, and another letter of recommendation might help.
