waitlisted

i got waitlisted for '11 class. i hear that you're supposed write letters to the admissions office to help you get off the wait list (which i am planning on doing) but i also heard it is good to go to cornell again (if possible) to show interest. but what are you supposed to do once you are there to show that you are there and interested? take another tour? sit in on another info session? go to the admissions office? (and if yes) what are you to do while in the admissions building????? THANKS

bumpppp...please? suggestions?

i'm in the same position, and i was unable to meet with anyone from admissions in person. my brother is a current junior starting to look at schools, so i went on a tour and info session. admissions really can't tell you anything about your status or chat with you until the may 1st deposit deadline passes and they are able to have a sense of how many they can pull from the waitlist.

Good Luck :)

According to today's article in the sun...

6229 were accepted, 3223 were waitlisted, and 18,419 were denied. 30,382 applications in total. I'm supposing they will accept a couple hundred at most from the waitlist, so I would say there is a slim chance of getting accepted since a majority of people waitlisted are eventually denied.

Anyway, I'd definitely try to do whatever you can to boost the possibility of getting accepted, but I would not dwell on it. I'm just trying to put everything into perspective.
