did they send out all acceptances yesterday? or are they sending them out gradually over the next few weeks?

deathcab
did the letter come in a regular size envelope or a larger than normal. My d is waitlisted and I'm wondering what to expect either way

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i heard that they send out the rejections later.... ??? maybe who knows.

oh man. anticipation.

hopefully maybe a celebration tomorroW??!?

icerink, the letter was the size of the other acceptance letters ive gotten..bigger than normal...

and i assume that if they send out rejections it wouldnt be until after the deadline to respond (which is next monday) just because they need to see the yield of those accepted off the waitlist who will actually attend..

it said nothing about how many others were accepted off the waitlist but hopefully it will be a whole bunch...

good luck once again

My friend had heard back from them yesterday, and she got admitted from the waitlist. The package they send you will be a 8 x 11 package, so yes it will be big. If you have been committed to letting them know how much you love BC, then they will give u priority, if u been silence...let hope your stats is good.

reddune,
Where are you from? I was wondering how close you are to BC?

Thanks for the info.... we are only an hr out of Boston, so I'm sure if we don't hear today or tomorrow the news won't be good

oh man cant wait to check the mail..... but it might not come till thurs (if its coming at all) because i live in hicksville.

congratulations again!

lets hope the stuff i sent in proves fruitful

congrats to everyone who got off the waitlist!

i didn't get the letter today (i'm two days mail from bc).. so i wasn't as lucky.

good luck to everyone still waiting

I live in suburb about 8 miles from BC, so it very close to me.

no letter for me. my gc called and they arent taking me....
things i did to get accepted:
-kept in contact with the admissions office
-sent letter expressing my complete devotion to attending
-sent in 3rd mp grades
-GC additional recommendation
-3 articles i wrote for my school newspaper... and really good ones!
-called to make sure they were all received.

i dont really know what im going to do now. i am so very very much devastated. devastated.

one02many--I am so sorry to hear that you will not be getting off the wait list. This was such a tough year to get into BC, and there are many students who were flat out denied. The fact that you made the wait list means they have a true interest in you. So...put a smile on your face, head off to whatever school you sent a deposit to while you were waiting to hear from BC and spend your first year at that school. Chances are you will love it, but if not, you can apply to transfer to BC for your sophmore year. Make sure you work hard in your freshman courses so that your transcipt looks strong!

It's funny how these things WILL work out for the best. Sometimes it puts life in a different perspective, and you might be amazed at how much you end up liking that other side of the coin!

Good luck!!

did they send out all acceptances or are there still more to come?

OKAY EVERYBODY!

here is the deal:

The GC called the admissions office today because i might have an anxiety attack with this waiting process. HAHAH. So, they said that they sent out acceptances on Monday, but they were a "selected few" and that more acceptences were going out tommorrow and friday. so you guys can take it for what it is worth. I dont know if i believe them. The reason i question it is because the girl that was accepted that posted said "she had to respond by Monday" so either they have different letters for different acceptances or they are lying.

Question for those accepted. What college did you apply into?

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!

yeah my letter said i have to let them know by the 23rd. by the way i'm not a girl.

and not to assume my chances were any better, but i had made a lot of phone calls to a lot of different people over the past couple of months and i was informed about 2 weeks ago that i was at the top of the waitlist.

the letter i received was also personalized (talked about a couple of specific things I did) so I may have been one of those "select few" they mentioned.

so maybe they sent out the top of the waitlist monday, and the rest are coming out later. it would make sense

good luck to those still waiting

deathcab, what were some of the things you did to get off of the waitlist?

well first i sent a couple of letters reiterating how much i wanted to go to bc and how i would definitely attend if accepted..

i also emailed an alumnus of my high school who is now the dean of the lynch school asking him for any advice he could give on how to increase my chances of getting in..

i talked to my uncle, a well-known cpa in boston, who made a few phone calls to friends he knew who graduated from bc..

i sent the admissions office an article i wrote for the newspaper...and an article someone else wrote about me and a fundraiser i set up..

and i pretty much ordered the head of the guidance department to tell bc i was the top prospect to get in if they went to the waitlist

this is so depressing... i think the only thing i can hope for is that like no1 accepts the spot off the waiting list. lol... otherwise its either penn state, nyu (stern) or bucknell.

one02many, those choices are AMAZING. you're all set regardless of the BC waitlist!

thanks red :-D i sure hope so
