honestly aussie, there's a chance that people will figure out who you are, but i doubt it. they get so many applications i don't think they're going to go on this site and start comparing notes, i doubt they're on this much anyhow. i wouldn't wory about it.

Thnx, true, by now they are probably sipping coffee and thinking about what color to send information in paper inthe acceptance letter, or they could be cramming work in and breaking their heads over who or not accept! lol well most proably would not go to this site!

You'd be surprised! I've gotten PMs from some teachers from top schools as well as a few coaches!

OMG! You lie!

R U?

I got 2 messages. One from a Hotchkiss teacher and the other from a coach at St Georges.

I see........

are you kidding me????????? you have a gazillion community service hours, it sounds like you signed up for every club possible, you have never gotten below a's, but you're nervous! i wish the people who put up chances threads actually needed the advice.

it sounds like you did a really great job at everything, and i commend you for your community service, but why are you putting this up?

Wordlywise-- Reassurance. We've all done it :)

Here's mine that I made back in the day (November). Haha.

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/414890-chances-me.html?highlight=Chances+for+Me%3F%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/414890-chances-me.html?highlight=Chances+for+Me%3F</a></p>

well, its obvious that these people have amazing chances, why do they feel the need to intimidate others and make them feel inadequate. if you have so-so ssats, or got mainly b's and need advice on which schools to apply to, then i can see it. but it seems that most people, to put it rather harshly, just want to hear their achievements commended.

Aye. Fishing for compliments. I got a few friends (not good ones) who do that {i.e. I'M SOO FAT!! I WEIGHT LIKE 105 LBS"}

I don't think thats what the people on here are doing. I honestly belive that they are legitimately insecure about their stats. It does make me feel bad, too. Haha. Obsolete, if you will.

Thnx Cricket and your r right, and personally I think ur a great person!

Worldlywise I think otherwise and that everyone applying to these schools has a chance of being rejected, even the best of candidates can be said no to like one of my friends. Everyone I think is just truly nervous.

I am not nervous. I wish March 10 would come, just so that I would know my fate for next year, but I am not nervous about the decision. I really think that if I am meant to go to boarding school, I will get in, but if I am not, I won't. Having gone through this process with my sister a couple of years ago, I know that many qualified kids get rejected. The thing I think is kinda sad: everybody says "my interviews were fantastic, my recommendations were great, and my essays were good, pretty good, great..." Oh and everyone scores 90% or higher on the SSAT. I don't know...but I think not every interview goes well. You may say something in the interview that really blows your chance, and you don't even realize what you said. The interviewer isn't going to let on that your chances are shot, but it's done, over, kaput.

Maybe I'm being a little pessimistic (perhaps setting the stage so I won't be too disappointed if I don't get in.) I don't have straight A's. I didn't score 90% on my SSAT's. I need FA. I'm athletic, but not a superstar. I just know my life will go on if I receive 4 rejection letters on March 10.

allow me to congradulate you for that attitude, and for being okay with the fact that you are not super-child.

I zoned out on my St Georges interview. My eyes glazed over and I had to ask her to repeat her questions! I felt so bad!! :(

Dont worry KitKat! I'm far from a prodigy!
