Waitlisted

Ok, so here's the story. QU was a safety school but I fell in love with it when I went there; during my interview my admissions officer told me to go right home and apply because space was filling up quick. So I applied that same day when I got home. I hadn't applied because applications are expensive and I wasn't sure if I would like the school. I applied Dec. 3 and got my letter today, February 27, telling me in bold print that I was waitlisted. Cool. I have a 1980 SAT, I'm in the top 10% of my class and have been a 4 time class president, among other things (see my chance-me thread). If anyone else wants to vent, feel free.

in the letter that said you were waitlisted did it say something like 'your academic criteria does meet our standards of admissions' and that you were only waitlisted due to the fact that so many people had already been accepted and there just wasn't room for anyone else, not because you weren't good/smart enough to be accepted. Because I too have grades/scores above the average for QU and I simply emailed the school asking them to take another look at my application, as QU is one of my top choice schools. The very next day I received an email saying that i've been accepted, i'm sure a letter in the mail is soon to follow. If your letter was similar to mine i highly suggest you send the admissions office an email.

my daughter just received the same letter and she applied in the first week of October. I don't think they were full back then. I'll have her email too.

Wow thanks for the tip. Yeah I do recall seeing a line like that in the letter. Who did you email in the school?

i actually just went to the website and emailed the generic address for admissions information. i had emailed them with a question earlier this month and they had replied quickly so i think they keep up on their emails pretty well. but yea, give it a try, it's worth it for sure if QU is somewhere you're really interested in going.

I sent in my "please keep me on the waitlist" form yesterday.

waitlisted too. if i get in great, if i don't meh, wasn't my first choice anyway.

Well I didn't even get anything yet from Quinnipiac so whatever. :-P

kjcastillo1990

I think we applied to a lot of the same schools :)

Hahahha, Rhode Islanders think alike ;)

I got waitlisted! I'm so proud of myself! rolls eyes

Haha aim high! Just kidding. It's from an Eight Simple Rules episode :)

yup, i was waitlisted too. even though it was my absolute safety.

Cool. I was waitlisted at Colby, too. Oh well, at least I have seven other acceptances.

I haven't gotten anything back from them yet either. I think I applied a little late, but I've only gotten into 2/7 of my colleges.. though it's surprising, really, my grades and scores are really good.. I'm not expecting much for Q considering Providence College rejected me.

Where else did you apply? I love PC

I got into Tufts, but was waitlisted at Q. Craziness

I know! Not loving it

I just got accepted with a Trustee scholarship!

I also just got accepted into the physician assistant's program with a Trustee scholarship, which is weird because the deadline for PA program was in November and i handed my app in december....Well it's too late now, I'm going to Tufts! :D
