Does anyone if Chicago takes many waitlisted applicants? And, when do you think we will find out...?

i was waitlisted...i really wanna go....if u get any info tell me...thanks...

I've heard there's very little chance of getting in from the waitlist. Somewhere from 0-100 out of 1000 or so.

where did u hear that...are u trying to mess with my mind...this is not funny!

It's all in the letter they sent. I don't mean to be short, but what are you hoping to accomplish with this thread?

I didn't mean to anger you anon. Sorry if I did. I'm just stating what I've heard from other people.

I was waitlisted also. The letter says the let in anywhere from 30 percent of the waitlisted people, and that the average is around 9 percent. I would suggest considering other options.

yeah, the truth hurts... I am going to send in some extra stuff anyway. The worst part is my deposits at other schools are due long before they'd let me know. I guess I will be going someplace else.

Yah, i got waitlisted too. I thought it was kinda funny, only because I totaly knew i would- i got 3 waitlists in a row. thats like, a turkey.

If you really want to go and are on the wait list, PLEAD YOUR CASE. Reply immediately, tell them WHY you should be at Chicago, supply more information. It has been my experience that the more "love" one shows, the more likely one is to be admitted.

Waitlist is a massive longshot...

But if (and a big IF, I'm still waiting anxiously) I do manage to get accepted, one of you waitlisters might be able to thank me...

I've been reconsidering lately whether I should leave early for Chicago (I'm in the 12th year of a 13-year program in Quebec, so I still can stay for another pre-university year) or ask for a deferral of enrollment...

Well, what I've been told is that if your waitlist number is below 200 you have a good chance of getting in and should sign up. (Don't quote me on this, though, it's just what a friend told me.)

yeah uchi said the list was unranked.... I am not so sure I believe this. It seems like it would be a waste of time to put them out of the order they had put them in when making initial decisions. (I hope they aren't lying though as that would really even the playing field)
