Again, it depends. They took no one off the wait list last year. It all depends on the year.

Ahduke, do you have any idea how many applicants that Wake puts on the list??? I know some schools waitlist a ton (WUSTL!), but others only list those that just were just barely underqualified; where does Wake fall in that spectrum?

Waitlisted

GPA: Hard to say
SAT: 2340
SAT II: 770, 740, 730, 710, 630

Decision: Waitlisted
[ *] SAT: 620 (V) 780 (M) 610 (W)
[ *] GPA: 93/100
[ *] Rank: top 25%
[ *] State or Country: NJ
[ *] School Type: Public
[ *] Ethnicity: Caucasian
[ *] Gender: male
[ *] why you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted: GPA

i was deffered ED and then waitlisted RD....wake is my top choice so im gonna wait.
im in the same situation as you, vjp723: i wrote a letter after i was deffered and i am comtemplating writing another one...

Has anyone found their commondata set? it should have how many were waitlisted, eventually accepted.

whistlepig, you are probably the strangest yet funniest poster on CC, with phrases like "Tomorrow, tommorow, your letters mailed tomorrow ...
It's a new day, your folks'll pay ..." Such amazing poetry like this is inspiring.

Waitlisted..... This s ucks

Accepted at BC, waitlisted at WF, who knows anymore

STEF, I'm not sure. I know last years class had a record number of people commit to them, around 1300 in the freshman class, and thus no one was removed from the wait list. The admissions office did not tell me how many they put on it, but they normally take 20-30 off a year from what I've heard elsewhere from people who made it off in the past. That mean they probably put about 100-150 on it.

Deferred then waitlisted, no good.
Really would have liked to go there.

SAT: 670 CR, 700 M, 680 W
SAT II: 700 Math I, 690 Math II
GPA: 3.92 (19/304)

Are most of you guys on here staying on the waitlist or just withdrawing your applications?

I'm probably going to withdraw mine, seeing that I got waitlisted at 2 other schools and I need to save room for those who REALLY want to go to Wake.

Not sure yet if I'm withdrawing mine. It's my second waitlist, and one of my top choice schools.

Stats:

SAT I: 2060/1350
Rank: 13/547 - Top 2%
GPA: 4.26 something (weighted); 3.93 (unweighted)
APs: 8 by the time I graduate; 4 Junior year, 4 senior year, 1 sophmore year (it was a 2 year course)
Sport: Field Hockey Varsity Captain, 2 school records, club teams, etc; also do horseback riding

OOS

I got waitlisted too, and to be honest I thought I should be rejected after mistakes on my app. In my essay, I called their student newspaper something it's not called and to this day I don't know why!! I don't even know another newspaper called what I called it. =( and three of my short response essays on the Wake supplement got randomly deleted from the common app and I had to rewrite them in an hour, and I'm pretty sure they were really bad. I don't have high stats either:

SAT: CR 680, M 620, W 700
ACT: 28
Rank: top 5% but school doesn't rank anymore
GPA: 3.4 UW, 5.12 W
11 AP's by the time I graduate
300+ community service hours
newspaper editor
other clubs..
also OOS

I just received my decision letter today. See how much time it needs for a snail mail to reach me across the Pacific ocean!! Wake is my top choice so I'll keep waiting. Are you sure they will inform the guys getting off the waitlist by phone? What if I miss the call? Will they email you or just give up?
And have they ever taken any international student off the waitlist in the history?

some stats:

[ *]Decision: Waitlisted
[ *] SAT: 1970/1360
[ *] SAT IIs: 760 (Math I), 700 (Math II), 580 (World history)
[ *] GPA: 4.00 (u.w.)
[ *] Rank: top 5% - 10%
[ *] Other stats:
[ *] Essays: not bad
[ *] Teacher Recs: better than average
[ *] Counselor Rec: good
[ *] School Type: public (outside the U.S.)
[ *] Ethnicity: Asian (actually I'm an international student)
[ *] Gender: Female
[ *] major strength/weakness: strong ECs, low SATs
[ *] why you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted: low scores? interest not strong?

What is my chance? How can I improve?
