well my backup is university of oregon…the thing is i have practically no desire to go there cause i never ever thought i wouldnt get into uw. this year was crazy in admissions, there were like no standards and random people got in that you wouldn’t expect, while other people like myself and those other waitlisted at my school didnt

ooh im sorry to hear that, i feel as though that same scenario has happened to a lot of students applying to private colleges, but there is always transfering right!?

Well… When did you guys apllied to UW? I have ugly stats compared to you guys but fortunately I got in. fyl I applied on Nov. 26 I believe. I’ve been reading through this forum, and i think you guys should’ve gotten in since I am in!

i applied november 4th. thats nearly a month before priority, and it took them nearly five months to look at my application. im convinced that’s what screwed me over, their system is inefficient because they should look at apps in the order in which they come in. if you are qualified you should get in. thats all there is to it. ahh well…

my back-up is Western which is the other school I applied to and now since i’m in the waiting lingo…it seems pretty weird not knowing where you’re going near graduation…I too have no desire going there…good school but UW was ‘the’ school i shot for…

Plus the essay makes a difference in admission and since my essay wasn’t as good as my other strengths…Its one of the reasons why i’m on the waiting list and i’m scared that my essays aren’t as good as the others since i’m in this predicament.

yeah i feel the same way about my situation seaboy, best of luck!

My backup is Western. I still like it there, but I’d much rather go to UW. I’m sure anyone would rather go to their top choice rather than their second ha. I’m sure it’s not that bad though. I like it still, it’s like UW but smaller!

And I really don’t think that the date that you apply really matters, as some of you have said. My friend applied on like January 14th and still got accepted with a 3.5 gpa, whereas I applied a bit earlier and got waitlisted with a 3.7 (not that great, I know, but I got all A’s this last semester along with good college grades) so hopefully that’d help!

well good luck everyone, im sure wherever you guys end up you’ll be awesomely successful people!

Thanks guys for the support…This waiting game and year is crazy than it already is and talking about it day and night is torture knowing the waiting period is very long…So i will log off for a while and come back right when I hear back from UW later on…Hopefully we all get what we wanted…Best of luck to you guys too!!!

BTW: between june 1st and august 1st- so it’ll be awhile b4 you hear back from me :)

OK so i was doing some research on UW and found this forum site. THis person stated that 3 people have been accepted from the waitlist??? Also i dont understand this ranked thingy this person mentions… lol what do you guys think?

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/archive/index.php/t-618305.html

ESP, that’s for University of Washington School of Medicine

Not, undergrad

AHAHAH lol i see that was pretty embarassing… thx for the clarification

So how many people at your guy’s school you know are waitlisted to UW? I know three people at my school who are waitlisted.

same busdriver 11, i applied late november and just got my rejection letter 2 weeks ago. Somethings up.

i gave up my spot… good luck everyone!~

so i was just wondering what everyone’s status looks like on the myuw account. i realized mine never actually changed from the “we have received all materials…” status…is that how everyone else’s is?

hey mcf11 couldn’t help but reply…so yeah everyone on the waitlist has their account still undecided.

Also did you get an email from UW?

I got an email saying that they put me on the waitlist and it says we wont get an email update untill the end of june. thats so long… T_T

I received that same email, pretty much nothing new. The only thing that I found recently was this [What to Expect if You Were Wait-Listed](http://news.yahoo.com/s/usnews/20090407/ts_usnews/whattoexpectifyouwerewaitlisted). It is alarming that those who would have been admitted previous years, are now on the waitlist. Also 1,000 more people on the waitlist this year just means more bad news.
