I live in Minnesota, I applied about mid-November, I got a 28 on the ACT, I have a 3.2 GPA (yeah not that great) and I'm taking three honors courses this year. I only have two extracurriculars that I started doing this year. And I applied to CLA.

And also I was accepted to UMD, but I've heard it's easier, so maybe that doesn't matter.

But, would anyone be able to give me even a hint of my chances of still getting in?

I have, for the most part, identical stats and I was waitlisted today also.

I was told we have under a 10% chance. Especially since they have freaking 35k apps this year.

That’s incredible. For a school trying to bring stats up, I’m suprised they would waitlist you with a 28. However, the gpa is low and I know many kids at my school who were accepted with a lower act but higher gpa.

I have a feeling that the U isn’t one to waitlist and then accept so your chances aren’t wonderful. However, I presume they will look at 1st semester grades, so if those look good, you may have a chance. If those are bad, then say no.

So was CLA your first choice? Did you have another choice.

Dang, I was really hoping to go there.

CLA was my only choice, I want to major in Psychology but even if I don’t, anything else I might be interested in is in CLA.

I was accepted.
ACT: 28. 4.095 GPA
Tons of EC’s.
Waitlisted to CBS

I think the people who got waitlisted should get priority over the people who applied after December 15th. If people who applied in January start posting acceptances over the next few weeks, I won’t lie, I’ll be kind of ****ed off.

I’mOnABoat - I don’t think you were referring to me, but I applied back in October, and I didn’t get my decision until December.
