into peddie.Hmm, wasnt that sad when I found out, but now its sinking in.

ouch… you applied late though, if i’m not mistaken? just keep in mind you were too good to be rejected ;)

Hmm… preppie, Are you in at other schools or have a back up? Good luck with Peddie WL as thier yield is not as high as GLAD CHEMMS.

:-(

Some Ben & Jerry’s might be in order. This is the toughest year I’ve seen. A positive thought - so many people are applying to the same cluster of schools. They can only accept one spot. Hopefully, your dream will come true and a spot will open up for you after the dust settles on the 10th. Fingers crossed.

Thanks guys, I was accepted at The Hill with no f.a, and I think I will continue to remain on the waitlist and send them achievements/reportcards. Due to the economical state, of this nation and my family, I think perhaps prep school may not be the best option for me at the moment…

May be you can express strong interest in The Hill and talk to the adcoms/fin. aid officers and explain your family’s financial situation. It appears worth trying. Good luck.

hey preppy dont worry you will get in i am on a waitlist right now too and we need to stay positive i think we should make a thread called “waitlist chronicles” and talk about what life is on the waitlist till we get in!

I’m on the waitlist for lville! Don’t worry you’ll get off! And Peddie doesn’t have a super high yield so, there is a faily big chance of you getting in. Think optimistically :)

actually dont believe so. peddie had a 19-20 percent admit rate this year and expecting somewhat high yield. alot of my friends were rejected b.c schools knew they applied else where. I still think you have a shot of getting in. Although I am leaning towards deerfield, im also considering peddie. i have friends there who have turned down lawrenceville, choate, and even exeter. it is an amazing school. it is very overlooked on this forum, but peddie is an amazing school.

What jyun are you fo’real? Man i would never ever turn Lawerenceville down, if i could go to any school i would go there, but i am considered “tier 2” material. I just want to point this out Taft is not a tier 2 school its a tier one.

and p.s Jyun read my other thread if your not going to go to peddie please let them know so preppy can get off the waitlist dont be ignorant.

well i mite go. i still dont know. i want to visit the schools. ive already crossed off certain schools nd called them. I want discuss which, I’ve decided i needed to be more subtle on this thread. if anyone has questions about the admission process feel free to pm me.

Jyun are you still thinking about going to SPS? You have such a hard decision to make! If i were you i would have to choose between SPS or deerfield but there all great school, it all depends on what you want and what your looking for i guess.

“alot of my friends were rejected b.c schools knew they applied else where”

wow that’s harsh of course everyone applied else where. I didn’t apply to Peddie but I had kind of similar situation. I got accepted to a school xyz, they called me to ask some info about financial aid and “did you get in any other school? how much $ do they give you?”

I said yes blah blah. And then xyz told me “since they gave you $, we guess you’ll pick that one. We won’t give you any finaid”

I was like &%^% but now I don’t care any more lol

I applied to like 12 schools…

don’t assume you will get off the waitlist like Jyun said. Prepare for no acceptances / no acceptances with FA.

im not assuming i just know because i got a couple of “hooks” down my sleeve
