Well, I seriously got in. I'm not lying. I don't know if i'm going yet; depends on if they give me fin. aid. Maybe they accepted such a small number that it wasn't really a certain percentage, or else I don't know why on earth they would say they accepted nobody. I really have no reason to lie to you, guys; none of you even know me, so I don't have a reason to brag about getting in if I didn't. By the way, Amber_Mulan, I'm from the west coast.

college or SFS?

I don't think the people who say they got in from the waitlist are lying--particularly if it was SFS --I will be disappointed in Georgetown, however, if they are lying.

Not that I really care because I got accepted at Midd. but this thing is really strange...

Yeah it is really strange. But you know what---SCREW IT!!!! Im going to Berkeley.....there is nothing anyone can accomplish at GTown (other than politics) that I can't accomplish at Cal (same to everyone else who didn't get in)!

Ohh and btw, GTown.....I'm going to graduate from Cal $120,000 richer.

I think your anger is misdirected. You're putting down a place that other people on this board really love. You're right that you will be successful at Berkeley, but you can make justifications about that choice by yourself and not have to say mean things about Georgetown.

I got accepted to the college.

I think you are a little bit bitter groovy, I love georgetown! so take your ranting to a different board.

Is anyone going to remain on the Wait list?

Ohhh get real......my anger is not towards anyone who got in. Congrats if you got in. My anger is not misdirected at all. It is specifically directed towards a school that claimed that no one got off the waitlist in a letter to me, not anticipating (or anticipating for kicks) that a place like CC existed and that everyone who got their letter saying "no one got in" would find out (surprise!) people did get in. I would have appreciated honesty from GTown instead what they gave me.

If I'm understanding the current situation correctly, it would be that:

a - according to my letter, most were rejected from the waitlist; they have been told no one was accepted off the waitlist,

b - a limited number of students were placed on an extended waitlist to be notified by June 30, with spots opening only through attrition (to Georgetown their class is full and kids taken off the wailist at other places and choose not to go to GTown would be the source of any "openings"),

c - a very very small number of students were accepted off the waitlist though Georgetown has communicated that they took no one off the waitlist; these students all first received a phone call gauging their interest in attending.

Does this sound right?

so how many people are remaining on this small waitlist? are most people just giving up? and how 'small' do you think the group that was placed on the extended waitlist is?

I have to agree with Groovy. There was no need for Georgetown to lie.
Most, if not all of us who applied to Georgetown, are rather well qualified and have received offers from other institutions. There was no need for Georgetown to lie to those of us who were initially placed on the waitlist.
As a Catholic, I find it particularly appalling.

SFS waiting list people, stay on the waiting list, it is worth it.

I'm on the second waiting list, too. I really hope some people decide not to go... I wish I knew how many people were put on the second waiting list. If anyone finds out, be sure to post it here!

What's the second waiting list?

I think there is hope for people on a second waiting list. Now that I'm going to GTown, the other college where I was previously enrolled is probably going to accept someone else to take my place.

agree with groovygirl and nycstudent. do not lie to the applicants if you are a catholic institution. very bad administration error.

Has anyone ever been accepted off the 2nd waiting list? Fakldaj. I'm from the west coast too! If you could call it a coast...its more like just west. Arizona isn't quite known for its large oceans. At least I won't be the only one suffering from the extreme cold.
