I got a letter today - I was accepted off of the extended waitlist for SFS. The letter was dated May 25.

Cool! Are ya going to Gtown?

I sent my deposit in on Saturday. I'll see you there in the Fall!

Congratulations on being accepted! But that's weird because I called last week and asked them if they will be letting wait listees know as they are accepted or just telling everyone June 30 and they said nobody would know until June 30. I'm not saying you're lying; I'm saying they are! G-Town's admissions office seems sorta sketch...

Anyway now I'm gonna be checking my mail so closely everyday!

Hopefully I'll see you next fall.

I was as suprised as anyone to have received word that early; I, like everyone else, was under the impression that I wouldnt hear for another few weeks. As a matter of fact, my parents and I kept checking the letter to make sure it wasnt some kind of fluke, and Georgetown has confirmed receipt of my deposit so my place is set. From what I've heard, Georgetown will notify students accepted from the waitlist as they occur rather than waiting to send acceptance/rejection letters en masse and that the list is not ranked; I have a friend that is in the same situation as you.

With regards to Georgetown's honesty, I have to admit that this year has puzzled me. When the extended waitlist letters came out, those students rejected were told in their letter that no one was accepted off the waitlsit, though a very small number were. Likewise, SFS has accepted at least one person off their extended waitlist. My letter arrived last Friday and was dated two days prior - it couldn't have come at a better time.

Best of luck to you and I hope you receive good news.

JenJenson, college or SFS? Well, good luck! Yeah, Gtown has been acting sort of fishy, but oh well, I'll still go there cause it's Gtown. I just don't think they should be lying so much.

SFS. What about you? Yeah, I don't care if they're unclear/untruthful about anything, SFS is amazing!

I was already accepted to the college off the first wait list, but nobody on these forums really believed me cause of Gtown's letter saying that nobody was accepted. But I'm definitely going to Gtown.
