<p>I also received the phone call today (at 5:01 pm). I’m not sure on whether or not there is a deadline, because I accepted as soon as they offered me a spot. The admissions officer told me I would receive an official letter in the next few days.</p>
<p>congrats guys. I’m also hanging on in the waitlist because UofC is my #1 choice and the wait is killing…</p>
<p>one quick question though, did you guys send in your supplemental letters to your regional counselor or ____________?</p>

I sent supp letters just straight to the main office, but I sent a personal email to my regional counselor as well…I sent a lot of stuff haha</p>

<p>Any idea on how many waitlisters will be offered admissions? How is Chicago’s yield looking? Would waitlisters who got in mind posting general stats and when/if they sent in a waitlist letter?</p>
<p>They said it can take a while to resolve the decisions on waitlist. How long do I have to wait? I’m getting more and more impatient…</p>

<p>Oh well, I got a really good merit scholarship at Wake and that’s really affordable now…there’s always graduate school</p>
<p>OH YEAH UCHICAGO! My counselor called me at around 5 and told me I was off the waitlist. She said I would get a letter from the dean soon about all the acceptance package stuff.</p>
<p>My S got the call last night around 6PM EDT. He was told he would have around 10 days to decide after receiving his official acceptance letter.</p>

SAT: 2310 (740M, 780CR, 790W)
top 10% “elite” private school
white male mid-Atlantic region
A handful of 4-year ECs including yearbook editor
Great recommendations and essays (he’s a writer)</p>
<p>Post waitlist decision action: S sent personal letter to his regional admissions director, updating accomplishments, affirming intention to enroll if accepted, and restating and elaborating on reasons for wanting to attend U of C. One teacher and the head of upper school sent additional recommendation letters (one focused on intellect / academics, the other service and character (he’s a judiciary officer)). Counseling office also sent something.</p>

<p>The reason I think I got in is because I sent them a bunch of updates, I emailed my regional adviser a lot, and i wrote a letter to the admissions office</p>

<p>I was admitted from the waiting list too! Yay! I received a call from an admissions officer at 7pm today.</p>

- checked off the “Yes I would like to remain on the waiting list” box asap
- sent letter describing updates and continued interest in UofC</p>

<p>I sent them several updates, sent them a letter, but still nothing. </p>
<p>It sucks. Maybe I’ll just end up at Michigan and be as happy as I can.
