Waitlisted at BU, anyone? Upset, but still hoping for more out of this. Anyone know the waitlist stats from last year?

My sister was waitlisted but I’d like to help her get into BU. What can I do to increase her chances?

I’m waitlisted also. I just checked the Common Data Set, and it seems that most people who accepted a place on the waitlist were offered admission.

Total freshman applicants placed on wait-list
2,258

Total freshman applicants accepting place on wait-list
1,104

Total freshman applicants accepted from wait-list
771

crosses fingers I e-mailed admissions asking for a little more feedback on the whole waitlist process and if there was anything I could do while waiting.

I want to send them my SAT Bio M score which is 640, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough. Can anyone tell if this score is acceptable please? (I’m tired of asking this question everywhere lol)

I have no idea. What school did you apply to?

I applied to CAS, I need to know if this would give me put me at an advantage or not. I have taken Biology for 3 years (1 Honors + 2 IB)

i think its a good score. i sent them my terrible 540 score on E Bio.

I would e-mail them asking if they take credentials now if I were you, before sending anything.

Thank you for replying,
I have at last found the answer for the question which I’ve been pursuing for months.

I will call them instead of e-mailing. I’m also thinking of emailing/faxing a letter explaining the situations which have affected my GPA during sophomore year.

I was waitlisted too and a couple of students with lower stats than I do / do unimpressive things got in from my school.
I don’t get it.

awtgol, trust me I know the feeling. My stats are below superior and people with even lower than MINE got in. and then the people who did are not even passionate about BU. It’s all too frustrating.

BU WAS MY FIRST CHOICE.
argh.

but you can’t give up just yet!

MANY students were offered admission from the waitlist, so don’t lose hope.

BU became the fifth college to waitlist me…

It’s my second. I hate waitlists, no immediate closure.

Guys, any theories as to why we got waitlisted?

What are your stats? Where are you from? How were your EC’s/essays/recs? haha

yunotjoy, same. 5 waitlists for me too…

I kinda expected BU though. My BU essay was downright terrible… but I’m happy it was the waitlist rather than a flat out rejection.

Can you get accepted before May 1 from the waitlist?
