Hey, I was waitlisted from Tisch and I was wondering for anyone else who might have been waitlisted from NYU in general--are you emailing admissions to say how interested you still are. I don't wanna be annoying by constantly emailing them but many people in my school that you want to show that your still interested. Comments, help?

I wasn't waitlisted but I think that sending an email would be a good idea. It shows you're still interested, so make it brief but informative. That way they'll know you're into their school and really want to attend.

Yep, I was waitlisted at Tisch, and I will be sending a letter.

thanks molly!
yeah same here...i dont wanna be too aggressive, but what else can you say besides I LOVE YOUR SCHOOL ACCEPT ME!!! haha

I was waitlisted for CAS and I already sent them a letter

what did you say?

I basically just told them that I'm still very interested in attending

dm290, if nyu is your #1 choice, make sure they understand that. and if it wasn't originally your first choice and you ended up getting rejected from your first choice school, just tell them you didnt do ED because you were worried about your parents financial situation or something, but make sure to make it sound like nyu is now your #1.

noooo Tisch has been my first choice since i was in like 5th grade..but i didnt do ED because my parents financially didnt want me to be binded to it.

My guidance counselor, who served on the admissions committe at Ohio State, Dartmouth, and Duke part-time had this to say:

if you get waitlisted and still want to go, send them an E-MAIL to say that you're still interested. Then if you want to make an update (say you get an award/recognition), then send them another e-mail. He also says that most schools, especially one as large as NYU, simply have no more patience with mail and letters at this point anymore, and it's more likely that your letter will not reach the right people... so send an e-mail.

What email should I send it to?

yeah...which email

on the NYU forum the administrator said that mail (letter) would be fine
