Rubin95 when did you receive the confirmation letter? I sent one to brown as well but have not received confirmation

Letter from Brown that it had received S’s letter arrived Monday May 4

what do the people who got waitlisted have on their sats?

S has 730V/800M/780W. SAT2 -3 800s. 99.2 avg. Salutatorian - yet not good enough for Brown!

Students with near-perfect grades are a dime a dozen, unfortunately. Remember that in selective admissions, and especially at Brown, academics are only half the picture.

I’m valedectorian, 760M/800CR/800W, with high 700’s in my SAT II’s and 4.0 gpa. Acceptance is way more than just scores haha

Very true. 2320 SAT, Salu, etc.

Good thing it’s WAY more than scores haha.
2030 SAT FTW.

Yesss… Sal, 2330, 3.95, 2350 SAT II, some national EC’s… But nope, not good enough for Brown apparently? Oh well, I’d take Columbia/NYC any day. :D

can anybody tell me when the decisions for waitlisters will be available?
I cant seem to find it on their website.

thank you

If you’ve been admitted off the waitlist you’ll get a call from an admissions officer.

Valedictorian here with 2340 SAT score, 800 Math 2, 800 US History, 790 Chemistry, 780 Biology…4.6 GPA (weighted), 4.0 (unweighted)… myriad of ECs most of which I held officer positions…etc. Acceptances at Ivy league schools is pretty much a crapshoot. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

so does anyone know if brown will utilize the waitlist this year?

Just out of curiosity, can you all log onto this website: [Welcome to the Brown University Class of 2014!](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University) ? I know it’s for admitted students but today I realized that I could access it. Anyone else?

i typed in a bogus name and password and could reach the class of 2014 page. it doesn’t mean anything.

Thanks BartleDoo. I didn’t even think of using a fake name/email. I guess it was short-lived hope haha.

I’ve been emailing my regional admissions officer and recently asked her about the waitlist. She replied: “We have not finalized our waitlist plans yet, but we did have a very high response rate this year from admitted students, so I don’t know how much we will really be able to do off the wait list. We’ll know better at the end of this week.”

Doesn’t sound very hopeful to me. Sigh.

^ Omg. I’m going to die if they decide not to take anyone!

^Lol. Same here.

Any more word on the status of the waitlisted applicants?
