I was waitlisted at seven schools! I applied for financial aid, and was waitlisted, while friends paying full were admitted. What are the chances of getting off a waitlist, with (at least half) financial aid?
Also, how many people are put into a waitlist per school?
Very slim.

Based on the above, some waitlist pools are as large as accepted student pools.
Pick one school that is not super selective and is one you feel comfortable and have best chance, and contact the AO, confirm that you will attend if accepted, and stay in touch. Have others pitch for you as well if you can.
Some are larger, actually. I believe most are.
