Hello! I will be living on campus at UCSD as a transfer student this upcoming semester. I read that I need 12 units to remain living on campus. Unfortunately I could only register in 8 units and I am waitlisted for the rest. My questions are: Is this a big deal?

What are my chances of actually enrolling in these courses?

Principles of Accounting:
Capacity: 170
Current Waitlist Position: 6

Product Marketing and Management:
Capacity: 80
Current Waitlist Position: 6

Principles of Accounting sounds like you have a good shot, since it’s a bigger class. For the second one, you might, but it depends. No one can really say, but you stand a decent shot. You could also consider switching to the second section of Principles of Accounting, which only has 1 person on the waitlist, but I think you have a good chance of getting into the class.

When classes start, if you haven’t gotten off the waitlist yet, you could sign up for some random class that will bring you up to 12 units. If you get into one of the classes you’re waitlisted for, just drop the other class. If you don’t get into these classes, you’ll at least have 12 units so you don’t lose your housing.
