How do they work? Will I be notified if I am put into the class? Right now I’m number 2 on one of them, but number 13 on other one that is important I take this quarter…

how do you even check what number you r

right, where did u find that out about your number? i think i waitlisted 10+ classes and i still have no clue what positions i am at

on Sisweb go to my detail schedule, you should see it there…

still cant find it, i almost clicked on every possible taps there. only my current courses are shown under the student detailed schdeule

Hey guys.. I’m number 16 on my waitlisted class -.- Enrollment capacity is 230 so I’m hoping I can get in.

For those of you having problems finding your waitlist number here are the steps I took to find mine.
1. I went to my registration menu
2. Clicked on Student Detail Schedule
3. Found the class I’m Waitlisted for
4. Read the detailed information and under status it says “Wait List on Sep 03, 2008 – Current position: 16”

Hope that helps.. If you still can’t find it try searching (Ctrl + F) for ‘position’ should take you right to it.

i followed step by step. all i saw on the Student Detailed Schedule page was just the 5courses i currently enrolled in. nevertheless, ‘Text not found’ box popped up when i searched for ‘position’
something wrong with my account?

Do you guys have a my.ucdavis site yet? Because if you do, right when you log in a box that says “my classes” should come up and your number on the waitlist should be listed. You shouldn’t even have to go through sisweb.

thank you for all methods provided… but unfortunately, nothing was up in ‘my classes’ either…

I was going to try for MAT 17A (even though I placed up to 21), but all the MAT times aren’t for me. It’d be screwing up the nice little schedule I have already or making things too tight. So far so good…minus the fact that I’m now in 16A which I could probably do with my eyes shut.

I’m waitlisted in position 2 for both

Animal Science 001
and
Elementary Russian

what’s the chances of me getting in?

I’m going to be honest and just from what It’s like for me, I’d say to expect the worst so it doesn’t become disappointing if you don’t get in.

The real catch with the class systems is that they made Freshman schedules less than ordeal. So with that respect, I’d imagine some of us ending with the weirdest times ever and some classes we didn’t expect to take.

When you waitlist, it’s always a dice game. I’d say to have backups planned…and backups of backups…and …yeah.

I also have a question.
1.on my sisweb account, the credits for my waitlisted classes are showing up as zero. For example, I’m waitlisted in a general chem class which is five-unit, but it’s showing “zero credit”. is it supposed to happen because I’m waitlisted?

I’m taking a freshman seminar for pass/no pass. Do I get credits toward graduation?

thank you.

This is supposed to show as 0 credit. When you actually get in, does it detail your units under the same schedule.

As for the 2nd one, maybe someone else can help as I’m not much of a Seminar guy.

minilemon:
for the 2nd question, i’d say its a yes, not hundred percent sure though. coz now i have a workload class, which doesnt count toward the quarter credit, but as far as i know, it does count toward graduation credit.

CptJackHarkness: thank you so much!

Although I went to orientation, I’ll be honest and admit that all the credit requirements were overwhelming and I seem to have forgotten what I learned.

thank you candyapples!!!

Just checked. Most seminars do eventually give credit towards graduation, but as far as credit towards a specific quarter, No. So I’d take a seminar now as a Freshman. I mean really the only thing is to have a good buffer for graduation points when it comes time to file for graduation :). Then when you hit the upper level seminars, it gets more decent towards credits.

Edit: No problem. Ask me anytime. I’ll try to help best I can.

wow, dice game even for position two…thats scary lol

Yeah. It really does come down to the time and the class itself. Position two for a MAT 21A is really difficult. Gen chem, timing considered, maybe.

how about elementary russian
