Waiving application fees (not for financial reasons)

Hey,

I am a rising senior and I'm planning to apply to a bunch of colleges this year. The University of Pittsburgh and Rice both sent me stuff by mail and email saying that they will waive my application fee (based on test scores i'm guessing?)

And then apparently Colby waves the fee for everyone who applies online.

I was planning to apply to Rice for sure anyway, so I'm quite thrilled, but should I apply to U Pittsburgh just because I can do it for free? I'm aiming for u of chicago, duke, and hyp, so I'd just be using this school as a safety. Is it worth it?

Also, is there a way I can ask other schools for waivers too? What other free applications are out there? thanks for the help=)

Okay, the future Pitt applicant in me says: "Don't apply! You might take away a scholarship spot for me! Save it for someone who wants it!." But, the common sense me (and the one you probably should listen to) says: "Sure, why not? Who knows maybe you'll visit (they sent me $250 off of travel fees, probably you too) and fall in love with it, or make it your super safety. lol

Free College Applications

There's was also a thread here recently, Search "free applications" or the like.

I got two emails from Rice they are waiving my fees, one for AP one for PSAT... I'm happy since I'm planning on applying ED there so I could possibly spend no money on applications :)
